I just brought a shampoo from Safeway, thanks to its app I could locate it easier.
At first, I felt this is the digitalization advantage, you build an app and you get it; then I realized that, it needs the facilities and workers to design and place the goods on the right aisles; and more, per facility it’s different so it needs a higher mechanism to organize goods and guide workers, and a way to reconcile between physical world and the digital app.
Now, as an engineer working in Governance and Compliance domain, this last piece is a typical policy enforcement use case. The real problem for us is never how to define and enforce a policy, but how easy it is to adopt for the users being governed, making the workflow friendly and embedded is the key factor of a successful policy.
